Stars in Schools & Personal Best Program
Central Stars in Schools programme offers professional athlete visits and assemblies, an amazing Personal Best programme & six weeks worth of planning!
Inspiring Visits From Professional Athletes
If you are looking for an inspiring WOW day for your school, our Central Stars in Schools programme offers professional athlete visits and assemblies, plus an amazing Personal Best programme and six weeks worth of planning!
The exciting Central Stars in Schools programme has been developed by Central Coaching alongside Mimi Isabella Cesar, an international rhythmic gymnast with a mission to encourage more pupils to aim high and dream big.
How the Day Works
The athlete will spend a day in school introducing the personal best challenges to each Key Stage 2 class through hall based workshops.
The athlete will also deliver a whole school assembly at the beginning of the day, bringing in any medals or kit, with the aim to inspire and engage the children of your school.
After the athlete’s visit is over, the planning is then ready to be delivered by your class teachers or school sports coaches during PE lessons for the following six weeks.
Our Athletes
Children enjoy an introduction assembly with demonstrations from their visiting athlete, followed by workshops based around the Personal Best programme.
Each child receives a Personal Best Diary to keep track of their progress over the following 6 weeks.
Children’s diaries are signed by the visiting athlete and include weekly active homework!
Inspiring the Next Generation of Sporting Medal Winners
Central Education has a mission to encourage and inspire children to aim for achieving anything! With this in mind we work with well known, high achieving athletes who can come and visit your school through our Stars in School Program or our Personal Best Program.
The whole programme can be allocated to five out of the six Key Performance Indicators of the Sports Premium Funding:
- The engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity
- The profile of PE and sport is raised across the school as a tool for whole school improvement
- Increased confidence, knowledge and skill of staff in teaching PE & Sport
- Broader experience of a range of sports and activities offered to pupils
- Increased participation in competitive sport
